All services are provided under a written agreement setting out scope, fees, timelines, duties, limitations and termination rights. Fees for each service are disclosed in writing before you commit. Lending fees, including any origination, application, appraisal, inspection, recording and third-party charges, are set out in the applicable Loan Estimate or disclosure documents. Wealth management and tax advisory work is charged either a fixed fee, described in your engagement letter, or an hourly rate agreed in advance. Insurance premiums are paid to the carrier and we may be compensated by that carrier; where we receive such compensation, we disclose it.
Client obligations to pay are set out in your engagement documents and are due within the stated period. We may suspend services where invoices are materially overdue after written notice. We do not charge a fee for a cancellation of a loan application before the lender issues a Loan Estimate, and we do not charge prepayment penalties on personal loans we originate.
All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. The value of investments and the income from them can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invest. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Market prices can move sharply and without warning, and you may not be able to sell assets when you need to, particularly in volatile periods.
Tax treatment of investments, including the availability of capital losses, loss harvesting and asset location, depends on individual circumstances and may change. You should take independent advice before acting. Where we provide wealth planning, the projections we show are illustrations based on stated assumptions, not promises.
